On crossing the road there are kilometres of unspoilt sandy beaches. Bask in the sun, immerse yourself in the crystal blue ocean. Take a walk or cycle around the nature reserve.
1km north is the restaurant K Curro Wonderful food and bar without the hassle of going into town
3km north is the fishing port town of Barbate. Here shopping for supplies is hard to surpass, the food market does not get any fresher, meat, vegetables, and of course fish.
7km to the south is Zahara de los Atunes A holiday destination in its own right. Historically dating as far back as 1444ad Here life is more upbeat with every beach sport and activity you could ever want, the beach is busy with bars playing live music and serving cocktails until late. Head into town for some of the provinces most celebrated food and drinks.
Behind Campo y Mar is the natural park and marshes of the Breña of Barbate, with walks and effortless flat cycling amongst the many migratory birds. Why not stop at one of the benches for a packed lunch, watch the fish jump and the flamingo´s wading through the water. Along the perimeter say hello to the organic, free-range Retinto cattle herded by cowboys on horseback.
