About us
A family of 5 originally from England.
We came with a passion for life, a Spanish life.
Coming from a rural setting in Devon living a better than average life.
Living in what was our idyllic home,
Set on a hill top overlooking lush green fields of grazing cows and sheep.
Picturesque woodlands and babbling brooks, just 15 km from the Atlantic coast.
Tracie (Mum) a passionate teachers assistant,
Garry (Dad) an antique furniture and prestige car restorer,
Deya, Saffron, and Ryan secondary school students.
In 2016 we visited the provinces of Murcia and Valencia
looking for land to build a villa and log cabins on.
we returned empty handed.
Life just took over as it does.
Two years later in 2018
Tracie took the job of teaching English in Barbate.
Throwing caution to the wind we stripped all the clutter from our life.
In June we moved out of our home,
we packed the car and caravan and drove through France and Spain.
On the adventure of a lifetime.
Our goal to experience life to the fullest.
We rented a villa in Barbate and explored the area,
where we stumbled across Campo y Mar.
Lying dormant, uninhabited for more than 7 years.
We instantly fell in love with it!
Despite having no electricity or running water, and a leaky roof.
The windows, doors, kitchen and bathrooms were missing.
The outside had barbed wire fencing keeping undesirables out and Luna (The horse) in,
the gardens overgrown and uneven, the once white walls were just left unloved.
Since then we have made this our home, restoring the broken and reinstating the basic´s,
generally showing Campo y Mar some much needed love.
We still have a long way to go,
but we have a lot of love to give
